We begin with an overview of the business case for supplier diversity, why diversity is important, and the opportunities available to diverse businesses.
In this module, you will learn how to:

- Identify upcoming opportunities for connections and visibility in the network.
- Review and update your profile for corporate members & other diverse businesses.
Module 2
Think Globally, Act Locally
Your path to visibility and recognition on a national or international scale starts with your relationship with your local organizations. Find out how to cultivate and leverage these relationships.
In this module, you will learn how to:
- Navigate your local organizations’ supplier diversity opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for visibility.
- Leverage the national network to build visibility and make connections outside your local region.
Module 3
Get to Know Your Target Client
Leverage the supplier diversity network to conduct market research on your target clients and be an informed supplier that makes a great first impression.
In this module, you will:
- Create a target list of companies.
- Learn the difference between Tier 1 and Tier 2 spend.
- Develop a marketing profile that engages your current and targeted clients.
Module 4
Differentiate Yourself
Chances are you won’t be the only certified diverse business in your field. Develop your value proposition to stand out from competitors and get to the next step with supplier diversity representatives.
In this module, you will learn to:
- Understand the role of the Supplier Diversity Manager and how to cultivate and deepen that relationship.
- Develop a customizable capabilities statement template for each target client or industry.
- Craft an elevator pitch that resonates with you and your targets.
- Create different “asks” for each audience (diverse suppliers vs. corporations vs. prime suppliers).
Module 5
Show up and Follow up
The most important part of a conference or event is what you do before and after it. Learn how to show up and follow up with our playbook for successful business development events.
In this module, you will gain the tools to:
- Create a calendar & budget for your diverse business development for the next 6 months to 1 year.
- Have a step by step plan to engage your target clients at different programs.
- Know what success looks like with your marketing efforts.
Module 6
Winning the Business
Learn how to respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), develop templates and an action plan for how your team responds.
At the end of this module, you will have the skills to:
- Make a template for RFPs based on different services and offerings.
- Activate your plan for when RFPs come through the door.
Module 7
Beyond Networking
Increase your visibility in the network with a strategic plan to get involved and give back to the supplier diversity ecosystem.
At the end of this module, you will have the skills to:
- Identify local and national opportunities that will elevate your visibility in the network.
- Maximize the resources you need to increase visibility with a commitment of time, money and/or expertise.
Module 8
Supplier Diversity Playbook
Track and increase your spend with other diverse suppliers as an additional differentiator in your target market.
At the end of this module, you will have the tools to:
- See a clear picture of your current spend with diverse businesses.
- Set goals for increasing spend.
- Develop an action plan for policies and procedures around diverse spend
